Ghostbar Connections: Cinematic Views and Powerful Conversations at the Palms
Last Friday's event at the Ghostbar at the Palms Casino Resort was nothing short of electric — a true fusion of panoramic views, vibrant conversations, and new beginnings brought to you by the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce.
Perched high above the Las Vegas Strip, Ghostbar offered more than just a stunning skyline. With its luxe interiors and wide-open terrace, it felt like the perfect backdrop for a scene straight out of a film — fitting, given my indie filmmaking roots. But today wasn’t about scripts or storyboards — it was about real people, real stories, and planting the seeds for real collaborations.
The atmosphere was cinematic, the hospitality seamless — and it truly set the tone for the kind of high-calibre, community-driven conversations that followed.
The event brought together a dynamic crowd — particularly from the finance and real estate sectors. I had the opportunity to speak with professionals who are not only shaping Vegas’ economic and investment landscape but are also passionate about innovation, visibility, and collaboration.
One of the true highlights of the evening was meeting Gianno Buonaguro, former restaurant owner turned realtor with HomeSmart Encore and Oceanside Real Estate Group. Gianno was a natural connector — introducing me to incredible individuals and making me feel instantly welcome in a room full of new faces.
I also had the pleasure of connecting with:
-
Ana Wood & Robert Young of the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce, championing Asian business voices;
-
Cathy Zhu from Signature Real Estate Group, who radiated warmth and professionalism;
-
Michael H. Ring of Go Global Realty, with deep insight into international markets;
-
Marcina Rose Blanco, full of vibrant creative energy;
-
Susan Yen from Yen Advisory, a brilliant strategist and financial advisor;
-
and Grant Okinaka from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, whose community engagement work added another meaningful layer to the night.

Events like this remind me that networking is more than just handshakes — it’s about shared missions, new alliances, and bold ideas that bridge industries. And tonight, under the dazzling lights of Las Vegas, I felt those connections being made. Hopefully I'd be able to find my top 100 AAPI for my newly establised Asian Vegas Network as powered by Phoenix Eye Films and supported by the IncubateVegas.
Thank you again to everyone who made this night unforgettable.
