Phoenix Eye Films Engaged for Inclusive Video Project: Casting Now Open for People with Disabilities in Western Sydney
The Sydney/US-based production company is currently casting people with disabilities living in Western Sydney to feature in a professionally produced video series. The project aims to highlight the accessible public spaces across Fairfield — from playgrounds and aquatic centres to libraries and leisure facilities — while amplifying the voices of those traditionally underrepresented in media.
Phoenix Eye Films is no stranger to producing films that champion disability inclusion. Their previous project, Nepean Jobs for All, delivered for Penrith City Council, showcased real-life stories of empowerment and opportunity for people living with disabilities across Western Sydney.
"It’s important to approach video projects from a community engagement perspective," says Maria Tran, Director at Phoenix Eye Films. "How do we create projects that promote harmony, empowerment, and a sense of belonging in our public spaces? That's the heart of what we do."
Participants selected for the project will:
✨ Be featured in a professionally produced video
✨ Help raise awareness about inclusive spaces
✨ Gain on-screen experience in a supportive environment
✨ Celebrate their story and voice
✨ Receive payment for their participation
No prior experience is necessary — just a positive attitude and a willingness to share your story. Parents with children interested in participating are highly encouraged to apply.
📍 Filming is scheduled across accessible Fairfield locations during May 2025.
